Know your genetics and anticipate your health
AboutMe EXOME is a genetic test that allows you to determine your risk for disease, study your response to medications, identify nutritional intolerances or deficiencies, and identify important genetic traits for changing habits and improving your well-being, among other things. This preventive health test is useful for improving your quality of life now and in the future.
EXOME technology allows the sequencing of all the genes in the genome to detect genetic variants responsible for disorders and diseases. This test allows you to determine your genetic risk in order to anticipate health problems and take preventive measures.
Receive personalized recommendations based on your genes. The report shows action plans based on the results.
The test includes a 20-minute visit with one of our genetics experts to interpret the results.

— Our Commitment
Rigor, quality, and technology
-
We only analyze variants with solid scientific evidence
Our expert panel selects and reviews variants with solid scientific evidence based on scientific literature and medical guidelines.
-
Quality Assurance
The laboratory where samples are processed and analyzed holds ISO 15189 and 9001 certifications.
-
We use the best technology available
We use the PMDA (Precision Medicine Diversity Array) platform by Applied BioSystems, which enables the analysis of over 850,000 genetic markers in your DNA with a quality rate over 99%. It is the most comprehensive platform on the market, designed to cover all relevant genetic variants related to your health. This platform includes genetic variants from all ancestral populations and also provides analysis of specific mitochondrial DNA and Y chromosome markers, allowing for a deeper and more accurate understanding of your ancestral origins.

What is the exome?
The exome comprises the coding regions, or exons, of the genome’s 20,000 genes. These regions are translated by machinery within cells, giving rise to proteins with diverse functions.
Why is it important to sequence your exome?
Exome sequencing is important because 85% of the mutations responsible for known genetic diseases are located in these regions of the genome.
Why is this test customizable?
Sequencing the exons of all the genes in the genome allows DNA to be analyzed in sets of gene panels associated with different diseases or conditions. The geneticist will determine which sets will be analyzed based on the concerns or interests of the person undergoing the test. In this regard, the test allows:
• Personalize the study according to family history or personal interests.
• Store information for future studies or consultations.
• Update the analysis as our life situation changes or as scientific knowledge advances.
How will I receive my test once I have purchased it?
You will receive your package within 1-3 business days. You will receive the kit, bags, and materials needed to return the sample to the lab, as well as a sample collection instruction sheet and a request form.
How should I send the sample?
Follow the instructions received with the kit. Place the sample and the request form inside the courier’s return envelope. To request sample collection, simply contact us through our communication channels (phone, WhatsApp, or email) and specify the day and time slot, as well as the address at which you would like the delivery person to collect the sample. You can also take the package yourself to any NACEX branch. Once the sample arrives at our laboratory, you will receive an automatic email confirming receipt.
When should the sample be sent?
Once extracted, the sample is stable at room temperature for days or months, depending on the kit used. We recommend sending the sample to our laboratory as soon as possible. Once in the laboratory, the samples undergo quality control to ensure they meet the minimum requirements necessary to begin analysis.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship to several countries. During the checkout process, additional shipping costs will be automatically calculated, if applicable, before confirming payment.
How do I receive my reports?
Once the contracted study is completed, you will receive the requested study reports by email. To protect your genetic data, the files are protected. To open them, you will need to enter your password/NIE/passport as the password.
When will I receive my report?
The report delivery time varies depending on the test requested. You can check the delivery time for results in each product’s product information sheet.
Will I have access to my genetic data?
In the case of genetic studies, you can request the release of raw data. This process involves preparing the files, uploading them to a server, and creating links for secure data download. This process carries an associated fee.
Who will have access to my genetic data?
Just you and us. We don’t share your data with third parties. Furthermore, our laboratories are located within Spain, so under no circumstances will your sample or data travel outside of Spain.
Can I get AboutMe reports based on genetic data or raw data from other companies?
In the vast majority of cases, AboutMe reports can be obtained from genetic data generated by other companies. Our technical team will simply need to be able to pre-evaluate that data.
Can a professional explain the results of my study to me?
We recommend discussing the results of your tests with a healthcare professional. You can discuss them with your doctor, nutritionist, or geneticist. If you need expert advice, our professionals are available to provide you with virtual visits lasting approximately one hour to learn about and evaluate your case, propose action and follow-up guidelines, answer any questions, and more.
How do I request visits with a professional?
First of all, you must have booked the service through our online store, either at the time of purchasing the genetic test or later. Once booked, you must schedule your appointment in our online appointment book. Once booked, you will receive an email with the link to the online appointment, so you can access the appointment on the reserved day and time.
