Object of study

What does the test consist of?

The test includes the study of the C282Y, H63D and S65C mutations of the HFE gene responsible for hemochromatosis.

At the genetic level, the disease is mainly caused by mutations in the HFE gene , which plays a fundamental role in iron homeostasis, modulating the interaction between transferrin and its molecular receptor.
