What does the test consist of?

This is a noninvasive test that measures, using a mouth swab sample, the presence of the HLA-DQ2 and HLA-DQ8 genes, which are associated with a genetic predisposition to celiac disease. Once the analysis is complete, a report is generated indicating whether the person has the HLA-DQ2, HLA-DQ8, both, or neither gene. The presence of these genes increases the risk of developing celiac disease.

 

What should I keep in mind before taking the test?

No diet or guidelines should be followed prior to taking the test.

The celiac disease genetic predisposition test focuses on two specific genes: HLA-DQ2 and HLA-DQ8.
